South West Welfare & Support Organization (SWWSO) is a non-profit working to expand educational and economic opportunities in underserved communities across Balochistan — Pakistan's largest but least developed province.
SWWSO was born when a group of students from Tameer-i-Nau College refused to let poverty be the end of someone's story. They launched My Scholarship — a fee-concession programme for youth who couldn't afford tuition — and watched it grow into something far larger: community learning centres and libraries now serving hundreds across Balochistan.
Today, our community centres in Pishin, Saryab, and Lore Karez are safe, inclusive spaces where youth — especially girls — prepare for competitive examinations, access mentorship, develop digital literacy, and pursue sustainable livelihoods.
Rooted in Balochi cultural identity, SWWSO operates with deep community trust, a proven and replicable model, and an unwavering commitment to leaving no one behind.
I have dedicated much of my life to serving poor, neglected, and underserved communities. Real change begins with dignity, support, and genuine opportunity — which is why we invest in education through fee concessions, libraries, and learning spaces, especially for girls. Through SWWSO, we are sparking a local renaissance rooted in literacy, confidence, dignity, and opportunity.
Aurangzeb Badini is the Founder and Executive Director of South West Welfare & Support Organization (SWWSO). A Harvard Kennedy School alumnus, Aurangzeb brings global leadership training to deeply local challenges — combining world-class policy and governance education with grassroots experience built across Balochistan. Born and raised in the region, he witnessed first-hand the devastating impact of educational exclusion on Pakistan's most underserved communities.
Driven by a conviction that geography should never determine destiny, he co-founded SWWSO in 2019 at Tameer-i-Nau College with a single mission: ensure no talented youth loses their future to financial hardship. Under his stewardship, SWWSO has grown from one scholarship initiative into a multi-centre, SDG-aligned organization producing civil servants, empowering girls, and developing the next generation of Balochistan's leaders. Aurangzeb is recognized as one of the province's most credible voices on education equity, youth development, and community-led social change.
To empower underserved communities across Balochistan through inclusive and quality education, skills development, sustainable livelihoods, and community resilience programs. Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we prioritize equitable opportunities for girls, youth, women, and marginalized populations, fostering self-reliance, social inclusion, climate resilience, and economic empowerment. Through innovative partnerships and community-driven solutions, we strive to contribute to poverty reduction, quality education, gender equality, decent work, climate action, and sustainable development for a prosperous and resilient Pakistan.
